Manchester   |   Permanent   |   £40,000 – £45,000

 2 Positions Available

Ready to come off the tools and step into a stable, long-term training career?

We’re working with a leading global training provider that delivers safety, technical, and skills training across the utilities sector. They’re known for hiring instructors who’ve genuinely lived the job — and they currently have two new opportunities for Utilities Trainers (Highways, Gas and Water) to join their Manchester team.

Existing Training or Assessment experience is great to have, but it’s not essential — we’re equally keen to hear from candidates with solid experience across highways, gas, or water utilities who are ready to move into a training role and work towards their Training and Assessor qualifications along the way.

The Purpose of the Role

  • Train and assess candidates’ competence against awarding organisation standards, supporting them to achieve the required qualification
  • Encourage a positive learning experience and promote lifelong learning

The role is based primarily at the Manchester centre, with travel required to other UK centres or customer sites.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Completing all administrative work linked to qualifications and assessments
  • Keeping accurate assessment records in line with awarding organisation and company quality requirements
  • Providing prompt, constructive feedback and guidance to candidates throughout their qualification
  • Ensuring assessment strategies are inclusive, fair, reliable and consistent
  • Complying with internal quality assurance procedures
  • Ensuring all candidates meet required health and safety standards
  • Upholding awareness of Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding, including the Prevent Duty
  • Supporting apprenticeship programmes across all aspects of training delivery

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • 5 years’ experience within the utilities sector
  • Teaching qualification – PTLLS (Level 4), or willingness to work towards this in the role
  • Assessor award (e.g. CAVA, A1, D32/D33), or willingness to work towards this in the role
  • Network Construction Operations (Gas) qualifications
  • NRSWA ticket

Desirable

  • Gas escape location and repair techniques
  • Network Construction Operations (Water) qualifications
  • EUSR Cat 3, 4, 5
  • Deep excavation qualifications
  • SCO Trainer (Gas)
  • Utility SHEA qualifications

If you’re ready to trade the tools for a rewarding training career, we’d love to hear from you.
