Energy and Utilities Assessments Writer and Reviewer

INTRO

V Selective are recruiting on behalf of an Ofqual recognised Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) who have recently expanded their awarding activities to develop and deliver regulated and nonregulated qualifications for the energy and utilities sector.

As part of this expansion they are wanting to hire additonal Writer / Reviewers for Engergy and Utlities related qualfications and assessments. The roles are offered on an Associate basis working remotely. The daily rate for work in £450. Applicants will have a technicial background / up-to date knowledge with energy and utilities e.g. Gas, Water, Water Treatment, Plumbing and Heating, Engineering

As a Technical Writer or Reviewer for the development of assessments or qualifications, you will be at the forefront of qualification and assessment development activities.

• As a Writer, you will use your current technical knowledge to write either assessment questions, mark schemes / guidance, multiple choice questions (items) and/or qualification content, for example units of achievement, including allocating Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and Total Qualification Time (TQT) where appropriate.The organisation will provide training on the companies approach to developing valid and fit-for-purpose assessments and qualifications and you will be expected to use this training to develop content which meets their standards.

• As a Reviewer, you will use your current technical knowledge to review the validity and fitness for purpose of assessment questions, associated mark schemes / guidance, multiple choice questions (items) and/or qualification content, for example units of achievement. The organisation will provide training on their approach to developing valid and fit-for-purpose assessments and qualifications and you will be expected to use this training to develop content which meets their standards.

You will work within the timescales agreed with the Qualification Development Manager or Assessment Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the security of assessments and associated mark schemes / guidance at all times, including assessment strategies.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education / Knowledge

• Up-to-date working knowledge of the energy and utilities sector and specific competence in the qualification subject matter
• Knowledge of awarding organisations and qualification / assessment development processes and practices
• Knowledge of qualification regulators and how Awarding Organisations ensure compliance with the regulators
• Level 4 Award in External Quality Assurance of Assessment / Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (Desirable)
• Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (Desirable)

Work Experience

• Experience of developing assessment material and/or training programmes for a training organisation
• Experience of working as an EQA within an awarding or similar professional body (Desirable)
•  Experience of working as an IQA or Assessor within a training provider/college (Desirable)
• Experience of developing assessments / qualification content for an Awarding Organisation (Desirable)
