As a Business Development Executive you will be responsible for identifying and developing business relationships and creating sustainable partnerships. In what is a a key position, you will ensure the successful growth and delivery of the new Training’s Skills Bootcamps programme. This will be achieved through the engagement of businesses to identify and develop programmes leading to guaranteed interviews for job vacancies and securing progressions into employment for learners on Skills Bootcamps. Currently Skills Bootcamps are focused around Digital Skills.


  • Develop new business opportunities with micro, SMEs and large employers for Skills Bootcamps
  • Maintain consultative relationships with your employers, becoming a trusted and valued source of up to date information on Training’s products and services
  • Manage the growth of the company brand in your designated area, being available and approachable to local employees
  • Conduct initial Training Needs Analysis with employers to co-design elements of programme delivery
  • Actively contribute to business planning and performance monitoring to support delivery through effective account managing
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the broader sales strategy
  • Develop expertise in your area, sectors and opportunities using these to drive innovation and growth
  • Identification of key new referral partners and employers, or partner and employer groups, leading on learner progressions with employers
  • Provide timely updates and reports as required
  • Demonstrate up to date understanding of all contracts, content and eligibility
  • Ensure all onboarding paperwork is completed to a high standard
  • Identify opportunities to upsell with employed staff, self-employed staff and the unemployed in your area
  • Work collaboratively with the learner engagement team to match learners to guaranteed interviews
  • Undertake comprehensive IAG with employers, to ensure full understanding of all aspects of the Skills Bootcamp


  • A background knowledge of the training/education/skills sector
  • 2 years demonstrable experience of engaging with businesses
  • Proven track record in lead generation and sales closing
  • Used to working towards and hitting team and individual targets
  • Ability to build strong working relationships (internal/external)
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels within and outside the organisation
  • Knowledge of local labour markets and population/demographics
  • Knowledge of the adult skills, Skills Bootcamps, and Apprenticeships sector would be an advantage
