INTRO

V Selective are recruiting on behalf of an Ofqual recognised Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
As an organisation they are committed to quality, and deliver a rigorous apprenticeship end point assessment service.
Their service helps to ensure that apprentices, working within a range of industries, are able to do the job they are trained for.
Key industries they support include Gas, Power, Water, and Nuclear.

STANDARD

They currently require End Point Assessors for the Engineering Construction Pipefitter standard, to join their bank of Independent End Point Assessors.

The Pipefitter is a vital Engineering Construction role, working within strictly defined processes and procedures to exacting standards. This often involves working on major infrastructure projects for example power stations and oil and gas facilities both in the UK and overseas Engineering Construction Industry. The Pipefitter role encompasses the positioning, assembly, fabrication, maintenance, repair and decommissioning of piping systems within Engineering Construction, both on construction sites or at commercial fabrication facilities. This can include working in environments with systems that may carry water, steam, food, pharmaceutical, chemicals, gas, hydrocarbons or fuel which may be used in cooling, heating, lubricating and other processes. 

THE ROLE

The is offered on a flexible / zero hours contract. The hours available vary dependent on demand, and registered EPAs always have a choice to accept assignments based on their availability. This role may be undertaken complementary to an existing substantive position with the permission of your current employer or within a wider portfolio of activities.

Applicants must:

  • Be technically knowledgeable in Engineering Construction Pipefitting, ideally with an appropriate technical qualification, relevant Vocational Qualification or industry accepted equivalent discipline qualification or equivalent technical experience
  • Have an assessor qualification or have experience of undertaking assessments
  • Understand and be familiar with the Engineering Technician UK spec and the evidence requirements to meet the EngTech (engineering technician (UK spec)) criteria

Upon taking assignments from the Service Delivery team, you will deliver end-point assessment for the relevant apprenticeship standard and assessment method you are approved for.

You will undertake (remotely or directly) end point assessment activities (which may include practical observations and technical interviews), awarding a preliminary grade and ensuring that all assessment decisions are fair, objective, free of bias and based on all relevant evidence presented.

You will accurately record the outcomes of all end point assessment activity using assessment material submitting these records within required timescales.
