Materials Coordinator

Overview:

An international manufacturing company have a new vacancy for a Materials Coordinator to join their fast-paced Planning and Materials department.
The Materials Coordinator will take control of raw material ordering ensuring stocks are managed within the agreed KPIs and actively pursue all issues that prevent effective and efficient Material Availability.

Candidate Profile:

• High standard of Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Good general level of education
• Experience with Purchasing and MRP preferred, but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to quickly recognise problems and take actions to achieve positive results
• Pragmatic approach to single and multiple deadline problem solving
• Reliable and flexible with strong work ethic.
• Able to effectively prioritise and adapt to variable workload.
• Punctual, presentable and with good attendance.
• Pro-active and can-do attitude required.

The Role:

• Use MRP to order raw materials in accordance with demand
• Interrogate reserve MRPs ensuring information is accurate.
• Implement material grade changes, inform the relevant depts.
• Liaise with suppliers on all issues that affect supply of raw materials.
• Work to find alternate materials where appropriate.
• Set up new item codes onto MRP system
• Alter MRP system to reflect dates and timings of material supply.
  Systems Housekeeping during MRP ordering.
• Develop a close working relationship with team in department.
• Offer assistance within Materials department during busy and critical times.
