Employability Skills Tutor

Can you motivate and inspire learners, providing with the skills to move into employment?

INTRO

Opportunity to join an award winning training provider as an Employability Tutor, where you provide employment support and short courses training to learners .

You will create new delivery modules and courses to address the local needs of employers and learners.

The role can be based from Derby, Nottingham or Chesterfield with some travel across all centres.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are seeking an inspiring and engaging tutor who ideally meets the following criteria:

• Teaching qualification e.g. AET/ PTLLS
• Experience of teaching groups
• Experienced in preparing session plans
• Knowledge of welfare to work sector
• Able to motivate and inspire learners
• Good communication skills
• Experience of working to targets
• Experienceof delivering short courses e.g. Warehousing, Customer Service, Business Admin, Health and Social Care would be desirable

THE ROLE

•  Develop and promote independent learning resources and flexible learning strategies to meet learning aims
• Produce quality approved schemes of work, session plans and delivery resources as required for class room led sector and employer led courses
• Delivery of quality facilitation, teaching, learning and assessment that encourages and motivates learners to remain on provision
• Develop new course material to meet the needs of the learners and local labour market
• Support learners one to one with their employability needs
• Provide confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG) on employment and learning opportunities
• Manage own caseload to ensure contractual targets are met
• Ensure learner files meets contractual compliance
• Enrol learners for, any required external exams
• Invigilate learners’ exams/tests
• Maintain awarding bodies records
• Ensure learners have access to up to date job vacancies
• Intensive support for learners with all jobsearch activity
• Job match learners to suitable vacancies and placements and liaise with Employer Engagement Team.
