INTRO

Fantastic opportunity for Distribution Administrator to join an International FMCG Manufacturing company at their Midlands site in Leicestershire.

 

As Distribution Administrator you will be responsible for ensuring the transport and distribution plan is executed safely, accurately and efficiently throughout the day; liaising with drivers, colleagues, suppliers and customers effectively and proactively.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

You will be a team player, being able to work on your own initiative, organised and flexible to ensure targets are achieved. Good IT skills (Excel, Word) are essential, with the ability to learn new in-house IT systems. Experience of working in a previous transport role would be an advantage, although training will be given for right candidate.

  • Excellent skills with Word/Excel/Outlook etc (Microsoft applications)
  • CPC advantageous but not essential
  • Must have a good geographical knowledge of the country (UK)
  • Must have good knowledge of the transport industry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi task and prioritise
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a curious nature
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required

THE ROLE

  • Plan and route daily deliveries
  • Ensure all drivers and customers are informed of the delivery schedule
  • To communicate between customer services and the transport office any changes in plans / deliveries
  • Deal with in coming calls and booking in all out bound deliveries
  • Overseeing paper and paperless filing and archiving for the office and maintaining local records
  • Managing and undertaking day to day administration tasks for the office
  • To resolve queries in a professional and efficient way within the same working day
  • To ensure all administration is clear, correct and in line with procedures and agreed working practices
  • Data entry, ensuring in house system is up to date
  • To demonstrate best practice in effective time management
  • To challenge existing ways of working to ensure they evolve with the quick and frequent changes
  • Practice and promote the company’s organisational values
