Our client is an international FMCG Manufacturing company. They currently have a brand new vacancy for a Business Data Analyst to join their team based in Bristol (South West)
The Business Data Analyst role involves working across all departments, requiring detailed analysis of business processes and identification areas for improvement, together with related project. 
Adding value to the overall performance of the business, the role covers a wide range of areas including - capacity analysis, budgeting processes, forecasting of customer usages and material availability. 
We are seeking analytical candidates with relevant experience, good problem solving abilities, a good eye for detail, and the ability to effectively prioritise and adapt to a varied and changeable workload

The Role: Analysis and interpretation of shop floor data, creating detailed reports for daily, weekly & monthly staff & management meetings Maintenance and updating of shop floor performance & information boards Identification, through detailed analysis & feedback, of production variances and consequential potential efficiency improvements and communication of these to departmental managers  Periodical attendance at monthly management meetings to present and explain analytical findings and suggestions for business improvement Involvement (with potential lead roles) in continuous improvement projects, providing support and insight through demonstration of historical and future scenarios Feeding back on the progress of these CI projects Development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to allow standardised data recording in production departments, leading to improved accuracy and real time analysis  Person Spec: Excellent problem-solving skills Previous experience in a similar role with reporting to Management would be advantageous High degree of numeracy and knowledge of statistical techniques would be advantageous, a logical thinker with good common sense Strong PC Skills are essential: use of all Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and, ideally, Visio (or any other Process Flow Mapping software) is required (create graphical charts/flowcharts, run pivot tables, share data between Excel & Access and generate databases in both packages.) The ability to question and hold a debate Ability to work with minimum supervision and high levels of self-motivation Ability to deal with external and internal contacts at all levels Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines when preparing and completing reports for management  Ability to work closely with Finance/Production/Planning/Estimating & Senior Management, amongst others, assisting through data analysis, to solve problems with urgency Data manipulation: used to analysing large volumes of data and a solid understanding of database principles and efficiencies required Project Planning: capable of planning and managing your own time to ensure your components of projects are delivered to deadlines Oral communication: can explain analytical work in a logical way which can be understood by a non-analytical audience
